About Theatre47
Theatre47 is a performance venue administered by Seattle Musical Theatre. The theatre is a converted movie theatre in Magnuson Park, formerly the Sand Point Naval Base. The name comes from the Navy designation for the recreation center (of which the theatre is a part) as Building #47. Seattle Musical Theatre has installed a stage extension, upgraded the lighting and sound systems, and converted the basement into a dressing room/green room area.
Theatre47 serves as the venue for Seattle Musical Theatre's complete season of fully produced musicals. The space has been modified to be suitable for this demanding usage, and can accomodate a wide range of technical needs.
Staffing for the theatre is provided by Seattle Musical Theatre's own production and technical staff. Experienced designers and technicians are available to help make your event a success. We can also assist outside designers work with our space, and can accomodate outside technicians on a case-by-case basis.
